Lebanon Valley 2, Juniata 0

Annville, Pa. ? A two-goal first half was the difference in the game as the Juniata College women?s soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Lebanon Valley College in Annville Saturday afternoon. The loss dropped Juniata to 6-9-1 overall and 0-5 in the Commonwealth Conference, while Lebanon Valley is now 8-5-2 and 3-3 in the conference.

Ilyse Resnick scored both Lebanon Valley goals in the first half to give the home side an advantage they would not relinquish. She scored her 11th goal of the year in just the seventh minute, beating Eagle keeper Lisa Russo (Lakeland/Haskell, N.J.) to give the home team a 1-0 lead. She struck again in the 25th minute off an assist from Keri Foster.

The two goals were enough as Juniata recorded two shots through the course of the match. Both shots came in the first period with the Eagles searching for the equalizer. Rebecca Shoaf (Madison/Madison, N.J.) and Heather McMinn (Indian Valley/Reedsville) had the two shots for Juniata.

While The Eagles had a pair of shots the Flying Dutchmen forced Russo into nine saves in the match. Jess Conrad made one save in net for the home team.

Juniata will be back in action on Tuesday when the Eagles play at conference foe Elizabethtown.
