Huntingdon, PA - Senior Juniata College cornerback Paul Evans (Huntingdon/Huntingdon) has been selected to the 2004 Middle Atlantic All-Conference football team. Evans was a second-team choice for the team, as selected by the conference's head coaches.

Evans earns All-Conference honors for the fourth time in his career as he helped lead Juniata's pass defense in his senior season. He led Juniata with five interceptions on the year, giving him 22 for his career, which ranked fourth in school history in career interceptions. His five interceptions ranked him in a tie for third in the conference. He was also the conference leaders in passes defended with 21, including 16 pass breakups. He piled up 109 yards in interception return yardage on the season. He also finished fifth on the Eagle team with 56 tackles, four of them for a loss. He ranked 31st in the conference in tackles per game, with his season-high of 12 stops coming in the season-finale against FDU-Florham.

Evans earned MAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping Juniata to a win over Lycoming. He tied a school record with three interceptions in the game while also posting four tackles, including a late game-saving tackle on a Warrior punt return. He then batted away the final pass attempt of the game in the end zone to seal the win.

He notched his first pick of the season in Juniata's tight set-back against conference champion Delaware Valley. His interception setup Juniata's only score of the game. He also recorded an interception and a blocks extra point against Lebanon Valley. Evans had at least four tackles in eight of Juniata's 10 games.

For his career Evans posted 219 tackles and 45 pass breakups to go with the 22 interceptions. He had 319 yards in interception returns for his career, and was an honorable mention All-American after the 2001 season.
