Moravian 3, Juniata 0

Huntingdon, Pa. ? Juniata fell to Moravian, 3-0, in a hard fought match Saturday afternoon in Huntingdon. The loss drops the Eagles to 2-7-1 overall, 0-2 in the conference. Moravian improves to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

The Eagles were able to keep it close in the first half. They allowed only one goal, when Moravian?s Tracy Fitzpatrick was able to put it past Juniata keeper Kerri Lawrence (Paramus Catholic/Waldwick, N.J.). Lawrence was able to keep everything else in front of her, however, finishing with five saves in the period.

Lawrence was solid throughout the match as she finished with seven saves on the day.

Moravian pulled away early in the second half, scoring twice in the first eight minutes. Fitzpatrick put away her second goal of the day, then Megan Collins scored to give the visitors a three-goal lead.

The Eagles had a few chances to get on the board. Alicia Walsh (Latrobe/Latrobe) and Carly Endres (Warren/Warren) both put solid shots on goal, but nothing materialized and the attempted comeback fell short.

Moravian keeper Caitlin Corrigan made one save in goal for Moravian as she earned the shutout.

The Eagles will look to bounce back tomorrow, when they host non-conference opponent Pitt-Bradford. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 tomorrow afternoon.
