HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Laura Krystek, the daughter of Andrea and Edward Krystek of Haddonfield, N.J., has been chosen to sing with the American Choral Directors Association Eastern Division College and University Honors Choir at the association's Nov. 16, 2002 convention in Pittsburgh.

Krystek, a sophomore studying German and secondary education at Juniata College, was chosen for the prestigious choir through an audition process. She is an alto.

Krystek, who is a graduate of Haddonfield Memorial High School, is active with several Juniata choral groups. She is a member of the Juniata College Concert Choir, a 45-voice ensemble that performs several concerts each year. She also performs with the college's Chamber Choir, a smaller ensemble. Choir members must audition to join both groups.

In addition to her choir activities, Krysek remains active at Juniata. She is treasurer of the Emergency Services and Safety Club and works as a member of the college's Quick Response Service, in which students trained and certified as emergency medical technicians respond to on-campus emergencies.

She also is a member of the International Conversation Partners Program and works as a tutor in the college's Writing Center.
