HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Freshman Erin Harter (Penn Trafford/Trafford), a forward on the women's soccer team, and senior outside linebacker Jason Stouffer (Newport/Newport), a student-athlete on the football squad, were named the Juniata College "Athletes of the Month" for September.

Harter wasted little time making her presence felt during her rookie season on College Hill as she finished the month with five goals and six assists for 16 points in 11 games. She opened the year with two goals and three assists during an 11-2 victory over Sweet Briar on Sept. 1 and followed that showing with two net-finders when the Eagles downed Goucher, 3-1, the next day. The Eagles posted a 3-0 triumph over Medaille on Sept. 8 and Harter was credited with an assist. On Sept. 16, during a 2-1 overtime win on the road at Thiel, she posted her fifth assist of the fall. Harter tallied her fifth goal of the season during a 3-2 conference loss to Moravian on Sept. 22, while her sixth assist occurred in a 3-3 tie with Bridgewater on Sept. 23. Overall, Juniata is currently 4-1-1 when Harter scores at least one point in a contest.
The Eagle booters currently own a 5-5-1 overall record and an 0-3 mark in the Commonwealth Conference, following 3-0 win over Pitt-Bradford on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles play host to Susquehanna on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m.

Stouffer had 27 total tackles, four stops for lost yardage, one quarterback sack, two interceptions and one pass breakup during a four-game month for the Eagles. He started the year with five wrap-ups, including one behind the line of scrimmage and two key interceptions during a thrilling, 28-26 win over FDU-Madison on Sept. 8. On Sept. 22, Stouffer posted six tackles, including two for lost yards and a sack, and a pass defensed in a 34-20 setback to Wilkes. Last weekend, he tallied a season-high 13 tackles, including nine solo efforts, during a 28-6 loss at King's. Overall, he averaged almost seven tackles a game.
The Eagles, who are 1-3 overall and 1-3 in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), will host Moravian for an MAC contest on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

The Juniata College "Athlete of the Month" award is sponsored by McDonald's of Huntingdon and Mount Union. Barb and John Eastman, who own and operate the local McDonald's restaurants, provide the winners with plaques.
