Albright 1, Juniata 0 HUNTINGDON, Pa. â?? The Juniata College womenâ??s soccer team created goal-scoring chances but were unable to find the back of the net as the Eagles suffered their first conference loss of the season 1-0 to visiting Albright College Saturday afternoon. With the loss the Eagles fall to 9-3 on the season and 2-1 in the Commonwealth conference, while the Lions improve to 5-4-2 and 2-1 in the conference. Though Juniata created chances, the only goal of the match came from Albright in the 30th minute. Anne Curry came down left sideline and around the Juniata defense. Juniata keeper Lisa Russo (Lakeland/Haskell, NJ) came out to grab the ball but was unsuccessful and Curry hit a slow rolling shot that glanced off the right goal post and into the back of the net. That would be all Albright would need as goalie Jessica Schmura made three saves to earn the shutout. Juniata outshot the visitors 12-5 in the match but could not earn the equalizer. One of the best chances came with just over three minutes left to play in the game the Eagles had a corner kick and sent the ball into the box. Schmura came out to punch it away and the ball went right to Juniata\'s Amy Reynolds (Jeferson/Harpers Ferry, WV) whose shot from 25-yards out just missed wide of the goal. That would be the last chance the Eagles mustered. Russo finished with three saves in the contest. Juniata will be back in action Tuesday evening with a non-conference match at Dickinson. ###
