BALTIMORE, Md. - It took the Juniata College women\'s swimming team until its second meet of the season, but the Eagles picked up their first victory of the year with a convincing 127-76 win over Goucher College Friday night. Juniata improved to 1-1 in dual-meet action on the season Juniata had first-place finishes in all but one individual event on the day and picked up another four runner up finishes. It was a big evening for senior Rachel Almy (Foxcroft Academy/Charleston, Maine) who earned three first-place swims. She touched the wall first in the 1,000 freestyle, the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle to earn 27 points for the Blue and Gold. The Eagles also placed second in each of those events as Collin Thompson (Altoona/Altoona) was second in the 1,000, Betsy Rogers (Catilleja/San Mateo, Calif.) placed second in the 200 and Allison Banks was second in the 500. Carlie Zoubek (Paul IV/Burke, Va.) also had multiple top finishes on the day as she touched the wall first in the 200 IM and was first in the 200 breaststroke. Also earning a top finish in the meet was Kristin Musselman (Central Columbia/Bloomsburg) who was first in the 50 freestyle. Thompson added a first-place effort in the 100 freestyle and Amy Sutherland (Norwich/Norwich, N.Y.) was first in the 200 backstroke. Juniata\'s other second-place finish on the day came from Rogers who was a fraction behind Thompson in the 100 freestyle. Juniata then capped the meet by posting a first place finish in the 200 freestyle relay. The Eagles will be back in action with another dual meet on Saturday as the team takes on Randolph-Macon. ###
