LANCASTER, Pa. - The Juniata College women's swimming team wrapped up its Fall 2007 portion of the 2007-08 schedule by competing Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1-2, at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational in Lancaster, Pa.
Freshman Lindsay Cooper (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) was Juniata's top performer, finishing 22nd of out 61 swimmers in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 26.48, and 13th out of 29 in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:14.10. Cooper was also 30th out of 51 swimmers in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 1:02.39. Cooper's performance in the 100 Breaststroke earned four of Juniata's nine team points in the meet.
Kelly Serfling (Frederick, Md./Urbana) earned Juniata's other five points, with a 12th place finish in the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 5:40.17.
Rachel Gipe (Portland, Ore./Oregon Episcopal School) was 39th in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 1:02.39.
The Eagle swimmers return to competition on Wednesday, Jan. 23, when they face Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa. -30-
