LORETTO, Pa. -- The Juniata College men's volleyball team won the opening game then dropped the next three and fell to St. Francis University, 3-1, in an EIVA Tait Division matchup Wednesday night in Loretto, Pa. Game scores were 23-30, 30-26, 30-24, and 30-28. Zach Bock and Zach Wanner each recorded 11 kills for the Eagles, with Wanner tallying four kills in Juniata's first game win. Juniata hit for a .308 attack percentage in game one, while St. Francis logged a .105 attack percentage. The Red Flash rebounded to hit better than .300 in each of the final three games, while Juniata hit .261 in game two and under .200 in games three and four. Matt Werle set the offense with 54 assists, while libero Anthony Damiano recorded 15 digs. Juniata's blocking, which had been so effective in last week's win over Princeton, was less stellar against the Red Flash, as the Eagles recorded just 3.0 team blocks. Dan Powers led Juniata with three total blocks to go with his 10 kills on the night. Juniata string of road matches continues this weekend when the Eagles travel to Columbus, Ohio, to face Ohio State in a non-conference clash. -30-
