FT. PIERCE, Fla. -- Juniata College's hitters has themselves another productive day while the pitchers struggled somewhat as the Eagle baseball team fell to LaRoche College, 16-13, Monday night in Ft. Pierce, Fla. Juniata (1-3) pounded out 18 hits while committing just one error, but Eagle pitchers gave up 18 hits and walked nine batters. Adam Spadafora (Asbury, N.J./Pennington School), Kevin Small (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North), Dan Kauffman (Conestoga, Pa./Penn Manor), and Greg Hoffman (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) each had three hits; Kauffman had a home run, a triple, and a double, but was denied the cycle when he was intentionally walked each of his last two times at bat. Shawn McDonald (Pittsburgh, Pa./Bishop Carnevin) and Dane Ott (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) each had a pair of hits for the Eagles. Freshman righthander John Love (Loysburg, Pa./Northern Bedford) went five innings in the start, but senior righty Jason Enoch (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) was tagged with the loss for his one inning of work in relief. Juniata returns to action on Wednesday, when the Eagles will face Kenyon College at 7:00 p.m. in Ft. Pierce, Fla. -30-
