HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Juniata College women's volleyball team completed a two-day, four-game swing through southeastern Pennsylvania with victories over Franklin & Marshall College and Haverford College, Saturday afternoon in Haverford, Pa.

Juniata defeated F&M 3-1, with set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-10, and 25-16.

Erin Albert (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) led the Eagles with 10 kills, while Steph Strauss (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) set the offense with 25 assists. Megan Sollenberger (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) had 12 digs, to pace Juniata defensively.

Kristin Noetzel (Closter, N.J./Northern Valley Regional) recorded five blocks, while Collin Wallace (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) had three points on service aces.

In game two, the Eagles downed Haverford by a 3-0 score. Set scores were 25-16, 25-17, and 30-28.

Amber Thomas (Ephrata, Pa./Conestoga Valley) had 19 kills on 47 swings for a .383 attack percentage, with Cassie Dickmann (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) tacking on another 10 kills on 17 swings, to go with her three blocks. Strauss had 26 assists against the Fords, while Beth Kozak (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) logged 15 kills.

Megan Sollenberger turned up 19 digs, while Amanda Schmidt (Boswell, Pa./North Star) also recorded three blocks on the night.

"We had a good day today from pretty much everybody," said Juniata head coach Larry Bock. "Haverford played tough enough in the third game to get the kids on our team into at least second gear, but there is no question that everyone on our team is pretty tired right now."

Juniata (23-2) will have just four days to recover before it begins a string of four games over three days. The Eagles will face California University of Pa. on Thursday night in a match played at North Star High School in Boswell, Pa., before hosting Washington & Lee, Carnegie Mellon, and New York University in the annual Wid Guisler Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center.
