HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's tennis team won its third match in its last four outings with an 8-1 win over Frostburg State, Monday afternoon at the Raffensperger Tennis Courts.

The win improved Juniata's record to 6-4 overall, while Frostburg dropped to 8-9.

The Eagles opened the match by sweeping all three doubles contests, including an 8-0 win by Caroline Weisser (York, Pa./York Suburban) and Maggie Wolenter (Audubon, N.J./Audubon) at no. 2 doubles over Frostburg's Vicky Stafford and Sarah Stephens.

Wolenter went on to win her match at no. 2 singles as well, with a 6-3, 6-2, victory over Becky Cuddahee.

Freshman Katie Healy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) won her fifth straight singles contest with a 6-0, 6-2, win over Stafford at no. 1 singles, while Jenny Wang (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) notched a 6-1, 6-1, win at no. 3 singles over Ramona Cuddahee.

Lauren Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) and Katie Steinour (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) completed the rout with their wins at no. 5 and no. 6 singles respectively.

Juniata women's tennis returns to the courts on Thursday, March 26, when they host Indiana University of Pennsylvania starting at 3:00 p.m.
