HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's tennis team captured its third consecutive match with an 8-1 victory over Indiana University of Pa., Friday afternoon at the Raffensperger Tennis Courts.

Sophomore Katie Healy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) won her sixth straight singles match with a 6-1, 6-1, win at no. 2 singles over IUP's Alyssa Shubra, improving her season record to 8-2. Healy teamed with no. 1 singles player Amanda Fontana (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) to post an 8-5 win at no. 2 doubles, improving the tandem's record to 8-3. Fontana was also victorious in her singles match, with a 6-0, 6-2 win over the Crimson Hawks' Emily Shubra.

Juniata went on to sweep its remaining singles matches, after taking a 2-1 lead in the three doubles battles.

The Eagles' Maggie Wolenter (Audubon, N.J./Audubon) logged a 6-0, 6-1 win at no. 3 singles over IUP's Kerri Kelly, while Jenny Wang (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) took her no. 4 singles match by a 6-2, 6-1, score over Kristi Jacobson. No. 6 singles player Katie Steinour (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) also won by a 6-2, 6-1 mark over Meghan Kuhns.

Lauren Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) had the toughest battle of the day for Juniata, taking IUP's Kelsey Herrmann to a tiebreaker set before completing the 6-4, 5-7, 10-6 win at no. 5 singles.

Juniata (7-4, 1-0 Landmark) heads to Madison, N.J., on Saturday to take on Drew University in a Landmark Conference match.
