The Juniata College field hockey and women's volleyball teams each had a successful week and each team was honored with a Landmark Conference Player of the Week award.

The field hockey team saw its record grow to 5-2 as it went 2-0 through the week of September 14-20. Over the two games, junior Paula Price (Camp Hill, Pa. / East Pennsboro) scored three times and added an assist earning her Offensive Player of the Week. She scored two goals, including the game-winner with seven minutes remaining, and added an assist on the final goal as Juniata defeated Delaware Valley 4-2. Earlier in the week, she capped the scoring in a 4-1 victory over York College (Pa.).

The women's volleyball team saw its unblemished record fall as it lost to seventh ranked Washington University-St. Louis 3-0. But the Eagles still picked up two wins over nationally ranked opponents in the Teri Clemens Invitational and now have a record of 11-1. Sophomore middle hitter Amanda Schmidt (Boswell, Pa. / North Star) turned in three efficient offensive matches over the weekend earning her the Player of the Week. Against sixth-ranked St. Thomas (Minn.) she had 14 kills with only two errors adding to her weekend total of 29 kills with only five errors for a .428 hitting percentage. She also contributed seven digs.

Both teams return home this week as the field hockey team takes on Dickinson College in a non-conference match up on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. on Winton Hill Field. The volleyball team takes on no. 22 Haverford College, Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center.
