HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The class of 2012 for the Juniata College field hockey team earned more recognition as forward Kim Amrod and defender Meghan McGlone were named to the 2009 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Field Hockey Second Team All-Star team, released November 30.

The accolades are in response to a 17-4 overall record, the team's third straight Landmark Conference championship and an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championships.

For McGlone, it is a string of achievements she has earned this season including All-Landmark Conference First Team, Defensive Player of the Year for the Landmark Conference, Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-South Atlantic Region First Team, and Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-American Third Team.

On the season, she scored three goals and contributed three assists, but more importantly held down a defense that allowed only 26 goals. She led the team in defensive saves with 10.

As a forward, Amrod was no slouch with the accolades as well. Her performance this season helped her earn a spot on the All-Landmark Conference First Team, and the Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-South Atlantic Region Second Team.

Amrod led the team this season with 18 goals and nine assists. Her 45 points marks the third best single season performance in program history. Her 18 goals also rank her third for most goals scored in a season.

The team's season ended with a 5-3 loss in the first round of the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championships to Lynchburg College.

The ECAC is the nation's largest athletic and the only multi-divisional conference with approximately 300 Divisions I, II, and III colleges and universities from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois. Established in 1938, the ECAC, a non-profit service organization, sponsors nearly 100 championships in 37 men's and women's sports, assigns more than 4,400 officials in 12 sports, administers nine affiliate sports organizations and six playing leagues and recognizes more than 2,000 student-athletes through the public relations arm of the conference. The
ECAC serves as the primary conference for select members in the sports of men's and women's ice hockey, and men's lacrosse.
