HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Goucher College committed 30 turnovers leading to 22 Juniata College points, leading the Juniata women's basketball team to a 58-48 Landmark Conference victory on Friday night at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center.

Juniata (11-8, 5-3 Landmark) opened up a double-digit lead on Goucher early in the second half, on a conventional three-point play by Paige Robertson (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area). The Eagles built their lead up to 16 points, 45-29, by the 10:23 mark of the second half with an Erin McGinley (Ashland, Pa./Tri-Valley) layup.

Goucher cut the Juniata lead under 10 a pair of times in the final five minutes of the game, but each time the Eagles rallied.

A Brittany Danel (Stoystown, Pa./North Star) 3-pointer at the 2:58 mark put Juniata back in front by 11, 54-43, after Goucher cut the margin to eight points. After the Gophers again cut the Eagle lead to eight points, 56-48, on an Amy Smith trey at the 40-second mark, Natalie Glinsky (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) drained a pair of free throws to cap the scoring for the night and give Juniata the 10-point win.

Robertson and Ashton Bankos (York, Pa./York Catholic) led Juniata with 12 points each, while Danel finished with 11 points. Jen Hnatuck (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) had four points with 12 rebounds, leading a Juniata squad that outrebounded Goucher 47-41, with a 22-8 advantage on the offensive boards.

Juniata shot just 25.8 percent (17-of-66) from the field, and committed 19 turnovers on the night.

Goucher (5-13, 1-7 Landmark) shot 37 percent (17-of-46) from the field, and was led offensively by Amber Smith with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Elizabeth von Ende logged nine points for the Gophers.

Juniata returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 2:00 p.m. when it hosts Catholic University at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center.
