WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Juniata College freshman Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) finished third in the high jump "B" competition to highlight Juniata's results on day two of the Wake Forest Open track and field meet.

Shaffer cleared the bar at 1.53m (5-0.25), the fourth-best mark on Juniata's all-time outdoor performance list.

Among the other field performers, Ryan Johnson (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) was 15th in the hammer throw with a mark of 40.72m (133-07), while Jeremy Boback was right behind at 17th with a throw of 39.38m (129-02). Nicholas Bauer (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) was 32nd in the long jump with a jump of 6.20m (20-4.25).

On the track, Laura Rupprecht (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) was 52nd in the 1500m run with a time of 4:59.47, and TJ Breya (McClure, Pa./East Juniata) was 14th in the 400m hurdles in a time of 56.00 seconds. Breya's mark places him second among Juniata's all-time outdoor performance leaders, just over a second off the school record.

The Eagles return to action on March 27 when they compete at the Western Pennsylvania Track and Field Championships in California, Pa.
