HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Coming into the last weekend of the Landmark Conference schedule, two Juniata College spring sports teams find themselves in the playoff hunt with a chance to make the post season.

The Juniata College softball team has already clinched a playoff spot, with its conference regular season complete, where the baseball team faces the University of Scranton, in a must win series to receive the final Landmark Conference playoff berth.

Seeding s for softball are not finalized due to tie breakers and games still to be played. Multiple scenarios could decide the fate of the Eagles seed. If Catholic and Scranton tie with Juniata for a conference record of 6-6, The Eagles take the fourth slot and the Royals take third.

The second possibility is if USMMA, Scranton and Juniata all post a 6-6 record, the Eagles would slide into the third slot and the Mariners grab the fourth spot.

Baseball must win the series against the University of Scranton, May 1-2, to get into the Landmark playoffs, giving them the last bid. The three game series features a double header on Saturday and a single, nine inning game on Sunday.

If the Eagles finish with a conference record better than Susquehanna University, it is possible to clinch the third seed. Catholic, Moravian, and the Crusaders have already clinched a spot with seeding to be determined as a result of this weekend's play.
