HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College athletics finished fifth in the race for the 2009-10 Landmark Conference Presidents All-Sports Cup, according to final standings released from the conference office.

Juniata's 17 teams that compete in the Landmark Conference finished with 5.618 points. Football (Centennial Conference) and men's volleyball (EIVA) do not participate in the Landmark Conference, and their results are not applied in the Landmark Presidents All-Sports Cup standings.

Susquehanna University won the 2009-10 Presidents All-Sports Cup with 6.850 points, after finishing third last year and in the bottom half of the conference in 2007-08. The Crusaders captured the Presidents All-Sports Cup from two-time champion Moravian College, who finished second this season with 6.667 points.

The University of Scranton was third in this year's Presidents All-Sports Cup standings with 5.984 points, followed by Catholic University of America with 5.713 points. Drew University, Goucher College, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy, listed in alphabetical order, trailed Juniata in the standings.

Juniata finished fourth in last season's Presidents All-Sports Cup race, and was third in 2007-08 - the league's inaugural season.

The Landmark Presidents All-Sports Cup is awarded according to a formula that rewards institutions for their finishes in the regular season conference standings as well as results in Landmark post-season competition. The formula also takes into account the number of sports a school sponsors.
