HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College picked up a pair of points by default against a short-handed Penn State Harrisburg squad then controlled the remaining matches on the court on its way to a 9-0 win over the Lions, in women's tennis on Friday afternoon on the Raffensperger Tennis Courts.

Junior Katie Healy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) and freshman Megan Phillips (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) opened with a 8-1 win at no. 1 doubles, while senior Lauren Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) and sophomore Stacie Beegle (Schellsburg, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) posted an 8-0 victory at no. 2 doubles.

Phillips moved up to no. 1 singles and had her hands full with PSU-Harrisburg's Kelly Jackson, before finally posting a 6-1, 3-6, 10-2 triumph. Beegle made short work of the Lions' Meghin Moore at no. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2; the three through five singles matches were 6-0, 6-0 wins for Juniata.

Juniata remains at home for its next match, this Friday, Oct. 1, when it hosts Washington & Jefferson College at 3:30 p.m. on the Raffensperger Courts.
