HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College women's basketball sank 10 three-pointers on its way sinking the United States Merchant Marine Academy, 77-47, in a Landmark Conference tilt Friday night at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center.

The win was the 102nd career victory for Juniata head coach Danny Young-Uhrich, giving her the most wins of any head coach in Juniata women's basketball history. Young-Uhrich surpassed the previous mark of 101 wins, set by former Juniata head coach (1977-86) and current Elizabethtown College athletics director Nancy Latimore.

Freshman Jordan Hileman (Williamsburg, Pa./Williamsburg) and sophomore Jordan Speck (Huntingdon, Pa./Southern Huntingdon) each made three 3-pointers, with junior Ashton Bankos (York, Pa./York Catholic) and sophomore Paige Robertson (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) connecting on a pair of treys.

Senior Erin McGinley (Ashland, Pa./Tri-Valley) came off the bench to score 14 points, while Bankos and Speck finished with 11. Robertson logged 10 points. Senior Jen Hnatuck (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) finished with six points to go with her nine rebounds. Freshman Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area) also hauled in nine boards, and finished with five points.

Juniata (11-6, 4-2 Landmark) was 8-of-13 (.615) from three-point range in the first half alone, and went 2-of-11 (.182) in the second half on its way to a 41.7 percent (10-24) shooting percentage from beyond the arc.

The Eagles shot 40.0 percent (28-70) from the floor over the entire 40 minutes, while holding Merchant Marine to a .333 (16-48) field goal percentage.

Juniata's three-point shooting tear reached its zenith at the 8:22 mark of the first half, when a Speck three-pointer capped a run of four consecutive treys by the Eagles. Back-to-back three-point buckets by Hileman gave the Eagles a double-digit lead; the first trey put Juniata up by 12 points and the second stretched the Eagles' lead to 36-21 with 3:48 remaining in the half.

A 14-2 Juniata run early in the second half extended Juniata's lead to 59-33 on a Robertson three-pointer with 11:45 left in the game. The Mariners' Janay Weathers finally ended Juniata's run with a jumper at the 10:24 mark.

Glinsky's free-throws with eight seconds remaining pushed Juniata's margin of victory to 30 points, the Eagles' largest lead of the night.

Merchant Marine (5-10, 0-6 Landmark) was led by Tamara Kaileh with 14 points and nine boards, while Rebecca Grimes finishe with 11 points. The Mariners out-rebounded the Eagles, 42 to 38, but Merchant Marine committed 30 turnovers leading to 34 Juniata points.

Juniata completes the Landmark Conference weekend homestand on Saturday afternoon, January 22, when it hosts Drew University at 4:00 p.m. at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center.
