MADISON, N.J. -- The Juniata College women's swimming team dominated Farleigh Dickinson University-Florham 44-1, yet Lebanon Valley College edged the Eagles 46-44 on Saturday in a non-conference tri-meet in Madison, N.J.

Juniata (4-11) won eight events overall and posted three second-place finishes.

Evan Beatty (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) paced the Eagles in their first event, grabbing first in the 1000 Freestyle in 12:14.01. Kelsey Miles (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) followed with 2:08.72 in the 200 Freestyle to put herself in first.

In the seventh event of the day Kathryn Viola (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) placed first in the 50 Freestyle in 27.81, and Haldis Andersen (Mooresville, N.C./Mooresville) came in right behind her at 29.57 in second place.

Viola later posted 2:26.12 in the 200 IM for first while Falon Snyder (Walnutport, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) came in at 1:06.33 to win the 100 Butterfly.

Miles topped the charts in the 100 Freestyle and Snyder grabbed another first place finish in the 100 Backstroke.

In Event 19, the 100 Breaststroke, Viola beat out the second place finisher by a full six seconds, with a time of 1:15.46.

Juniata's 200 Freestyle Relay was comprised of Miles, Beatty, Andersen and Snyder. The swimmers finished two seconds behind Lebanon Valley and got second in 1:52.65.

Lebanon Valley College defeated FDU-Florham 46-1.

Juniata returns to the competition next Saturday, Jan. 29, at Hood College with Penn State Altoona at 2:00 p.m.
