Complete WVU State Farm Shell Games results (men's & women's)

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Junior Nicholas Bauer (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) won the long jump while Ceth Parker (Sabillasville, Md./Catoctin) and Zach Doyle (Altoona, Pa./Bellwood-Antis) each posted second place finishes to highlight Juniata College results at the West Virginia University State Farm Games, Saturday at the WVU Shell Building.

Sophomore Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) was Juniata's top finisher in a women's event, placing third in the high jump with a mark of 1.51m. She was also sixth in the triple jump with a jump of 10.07m, and seventh in the preliminaries of the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.04 seconds.

Stephanie Varner (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) was fifth in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 2.80m, while Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) was fifth in the 3000m with a time of 11:14.31. Woods also logged an eighth place finish in the mile run with a time of 5:36.00. Megan McQuillan (Severna Park, Md./Seton Keough) and Alyssa Grube (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) finished seventh and eighth respectively in the 1000m run, with times of 3:22.75 and 3:23.72.

Bauer posted a mark of 6.66m in the long jump to win the event, and finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 12.35m. Doyle's second-place mark in the shot put was 11.13m, while Parker was second in the 3000m with a time of 9:12.31 - nearly eight seconds faster than the third-place time posted by California (Pa.) University's Matt Kroetch.

Parker also logged a fourth place finish in the mile run with a time of 4:34.48.

Steve Schmitt (New Providence, Pa./Solanco) trailed Parker in the 3000m run, finishing fourth with a time of 9:28.82.

Aaron McCoy (Muncy, Pa./Hughesville) was third in the 200m dash with a mark of 24.05 seconds, and was fifth in the 60m dash with a finish of 7.43 seconds. Nik Klena (Franklin, Pa./Oil City) was fourth in both the 500m dash, finishing in 1:13.88, and in the 1000m run with a time of 2:52.11. Connor Robinson (Asheville, N.C./Asheville) was fourth in the 800m run with a time of 2:09.65.

Both the Juniata men's and women's track and field teams will compete at the Haverford College Invitational on February 5, 2011, in Haverford, Pa.
