Complete results from Haverford College Keough Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa. -- Juniata College sophomore Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) finished near the top of four different events while junior Nicholas Bauer (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) recorded a pair of top ten finishes of his own, pacing Juniata results at Saturday's Haverford College Keough Invitational at Haverford's Alumni Field House.

Shaffer finished third in the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.90 seconds, giving her the best time in that event this season in the Landmark Conference based on times heading into this weekend.

Shaffer also finished third in the high jump with a mark of 4-11 3/4, which represents the second-best height in the Landmark this indoor season. She was sixth in the triple jump with an effort of 33-5 1/4, and was seventh in the long jump with a leap of 15-9. Both marks place Shaffer third on the Landmark performance rankings, based on results heading into Saturday's meets.

Junior Erika Brown (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) was fourth in the high jump after clearing a height of 4-11 3/4, while sophomore Lauren Taylor (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) was fifth in the pole vault by clearing the bar on first attempt at 8-10 1/4.

On the track, senior Megan McQuillan (Severna Park, Md./Seton Keough) was the top performer with her eighth-place finish in the mile run with a time of 5:25.43.

In the men's events, junior Nicholas Bauer (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) was second in the long jump with a leap of 21-7 1/2, and also placed 10th in the triple jump with an effort of 40-0 1/2.

Sophomore Vinny Smith (Butler, Pa./Mars) matched Bauer's top finish with a second-place result in the 55m hurdles, posting a time of 8.45 seconds.

Also on the track, Aaron McCoy (Muncy, Pa./Hughesville) was sixth in the 55m dash with a time of 6.84 seconds, and placed eighth in the 200m dash with a mark of 24.35 seconds.

Junior Ceth Parker (Sabillasville, Md./Catoctin) was seventh in the 5000m run with a time of 15:34.78.

Juniata competes next weekend at Saturday's Bucknell Winter Classic and Sunday's Susquehanna Invitational.
