HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Emergency Services and Safety Club of Juniata College will stage a mock accident on the lawn of Sherwood Residence Hall near 19th Street and Scott Street, at 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24 on the Juniata campus.

The mock accident scenario will center on a two-car accident involving drunken drivers. The club will stage a variety of medical injuries ranging from simple fractures to fatalities. The various responding emergency teams will treat at least five simulated injuries or fatalities.

Local emergency services will help out in staging the mock accident, including Quick Response Service teams and the fire departments from Huntingdon and McConnellstown.

In addition to treating the simulated injured, the students and emergency personnel will simulate a rescue from an automobile as well as setting up a landing zone for a helicopter. The MedStar helicopter from Conemaugh Memorial Trauma Center in Johnstown, will land in the zone set up on the North Lawn of the campus.

Fire Police from Huntingdon and members of the Juniata club's Quick Response Service, will help with traffic control.
