HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- A former finance executive who left the energy company Enron because he disagreed with the firm's ethical standards will lecture at Juniata College on "Ethics Today" at 7:15 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31 in the Neff Lecture Hall in the William J. von Liebig Center for Science on the Juniata campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

Todd Kulp, a 1980 Juniata graduate, worked in the finance department at Enron, reporting directly to Andrew Fastow, an Enron executive recently indicted for fraud. In January 1997, Kulp left Enron. "It was a harsh, rude atmosphere and they already were doing things I considered unethical, which led to my decision to leave the company," Kulp recalls. "Unfortunately they couldn't have gotten away with it for so long unless others were willing to look the other way to make more money and retain positions of power."

Kulp now is assistant treasurer in corporate finance with Transocean Sedco Forex Inc. in Houston, Texas.
