Complete results from 2011 Landmark Outdoor T&F Championships (Day 1 and Day 2 combined)

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Jeremy Hays (McMechen, W.Va./John Marshall) and Alyssa Grube (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) claimed Landmark Conference track and field Rookie of the Year honors, and helped pace the Juniata College men's and women's track and field teams to third place finishes at the 2011 Landmark Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which wrapped up Sunday at Juniata's Oller Track at Knox Stadium.

Hays was named Men's Co-Rookie of the Year, sharing the honor with Susquehanna University's Seth Landgraf. Hays won the high jump competition after clearing the bar at 6-4.

Also in the men's competition, Vinny Smith (Butler, Pa./Mars) medaled in the 110m hurdles, finishing second with a time of 15.94 seconds. He was also fourth (59.10) in the 400m hurdles. Aaron McCoy was third in the 100m dash with a mark of 11.34 seconds, and Justin Clapper (Buffalo Mills, Pa./Bedford) was third in the hammer with a throw of 130-0.

Grube took solo Women's Rookie of the Year honors after finishing fourth in the 800m run with a time of 2:2.02, and running a leg for Juniata's second-place squad in the 4x400m relay. Joining Grube on the 4x400m relay team were Kathryn Brown (Manchester, Mich./Manchester), Courtney DeGemmis (Lansdale, Pa./Methacton), and Erika Brown (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg).

Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) took first place in a pair of events, winning the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.68 seconds, and capturing the high jump after clearing the bar at 4-11 �¾. Shaffer also posted a fourth place finish in the triple jump on Sunday, with a mark of 33-0 �¼.

Also medaling for Juniata were Megan McQuillan (Severna Park, Md./Seton Keough) in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing second with a time of 11:50.29; Erika Brown in the400m hurdles, with third-place time of 1:10.02; and Jessica Koenig (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) in the 5000m run with a third place time of 18:43.08.

The men finished third in the Landmark team competition with 137 points, trailing four-time champion Moravian College with 272 points and second place Susquehanna Universit with 225 points.

In the women's competition, Juniata tallied 161 points, while Moravian won its fourth-straight outdoor track crown with 252 points. Susquehanna was second with 197 points.
