HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Registration is still open for Juniata College Football's Summer Youth Camp, which will be held June 16-17, 2011.

Two days of expert and personal instruction from the Juniata football staff will place an emphasis on fun and the enjoyment of playing football. Each session will focus on football skills and related activities, as well as games that develop teamwork and all-around athletic skills. The coaching-and-teaching sessions will also be geared toward the basic fundamentals of football, allowing each camper the opportunity to play and learn each position on offense, defense, and special teams.

The camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day with lunch provided, and will be held at Knox Stadium at Juniata College. Registration is open to children entering grades 1 through 8, and the cost is $50 per child.

Registration will take place on Thursday, June 16, at 8:00 a.m. in the lobby of the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center, prior to the opening of camp. Pre-registration is available by calling Juniata's Conferences & Events Office at 814-641-3604, or online at www.juniata.edu/camps/football.

Juniata Football will also be holding its annual One-Day College Showcase on Saturday, June 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This one-day session will focus on high school players and introduce them to the expectations of college football. It is a non-contact camp to individually develop each player's specific skills, while providing competition in an exciting atmosphere. Instruction will be position specific. The showcase will also offer sessions on what to expect from the college recruiting experience, academic and compliance workshops, and a chance to experience what it is like to be a football player at Juniata.

The One-Day College Showcase will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with registration taking place starting at 9:00 a.m. in the lobby of the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center. Pre-registration for the One-Day College Showcase is also available by calling Juniata's Conferences & Events Office at 814-641-3604, or online at www.juniata.edu/camps/football.
