HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College sophomores Amy Miller (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) of the women's volleyball team and Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) of the women's cross country squad were named Landmark Conference Players of the Week for their performances during this weekend's competitions.

As the women's volleyball team hosted and won its annual ASICS Invitational, Miller produced averages of 2.90 kills, .50 aces, 2.30 digs, and 3.55 points per set over three matches. Her impressive numbers earned All-Tournament Team honors as she tallied up team-high kill marks against Randolph-Macon College and Franklin & Marshall. In the championship match against Transylvania Miller charted eight kills, 12 digs, and two service aces.

Woods posted a time of 19:25:96 and was the first lady Eagle to cross the finish line by placing fifth overall in the Lebanon Valley Cross Country Invitational. Her mark would have given her the second-fastest time in the Conference during the 2010 season for a 5K run. The women placed eighth overall out of 12 scored teams with an average race time of 21:28.

Women's volleyball resumes play Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Clarion University, while women's cross country next participates in the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 11:30 a.m.
