BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Juniata College men's soccer scored early and then held Moravian College at bay for nearly 80 minutes to complete a 1-0 Landmark Conference victory over the Greyhounds, Saturday afternoon at Haupert Union Quad field.

The win was Juniata's (5-4-0, 1-2-0 Landmark) first over Moravian since the 2007 season.

Senior midfielder Luke Waddell (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) scored in the 12th minute with a shot into the lower right corner of the goal, off a loose ball settled and passed by Greg Hess (Hanover, Pa./South Western). The goal was Waddell's second of the season.

Juniata had a commanding 21-9 advantage in shots, with 11 of those 21 Eagle attempts on goal and resulting in 10 saves for Moravian keeper Mike Brand. Juniata's Ezra Cassel (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) recorded five saves in the Eagles' goal.

The Eagles also had a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks; all five Moravian (2-10-0, 0-3-0 Landmark) corner kicks came in the second half.

Juniata travels to Middletown, Pa., this Tuesday, Oct. 11, to face Penn State Harrisburg. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
