HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College women's volleyball and field hockey held onto their spots in their respective national rankings this week.

Women's volleyball (16-6) remained in the No. 11 slot in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Top 25 coaches poll, after falling to sixth-ranked Christopher Newport and posting wins over Mary Washington and Salisbury. The top five places in the poll remained unchanged - Calvin, Washington-St. Louis, Emory, Wittenberg, and Eastern - with some movement in the six through 10 spots. Heidelberg jumped from eighth to sixth in this week's poll, while Southwestern (Texas) jumped up to seventh.

Christopher Newport, Concordia (Minn.) and Carthage round out the top ten.

Juniata faces Merchant Marine and Goucher this weekend as it completes Landmark Conference play, with a home match against Penn State Altoona coming up on Thursday evening.

Field hockey (9-2) dropped to No. 20 in this week's National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Top 20 coaches poll, down one notch from the No. 19 ranking the Eagles had held the past few weeks.

Juniata has a key match coming up this Saturday, Oct. 15, as the Eagles host No. 12 Catholic University of America at 1:00 p.m. on Winton Hill Field.
