MEN'S BASKETBALL (11-9, 6-4 Commonwealth): Feb 11 at Susquehanna*; Feb 13 vs. Villa Julie; Feb 13 at Albright*.

Juniata picked up two huge conference wins on the week, and have now won three straight games. Juniata topped Messiah on the road 72-60 and then the Eagles handed Elizabethtown only their second conference loss of the season 81-72. Craig Biller (Penn Cambria/Loretto) led the Eagles with 19 points in the win over Elizabethtown. He also added six assists and four steals. Travis Martin (Huntingdon/Huntingdon) added 15 points and a team-high six rebounds, and Neil Holloway (Tussey Mountaint/Saxton) was also in double figures with 10 points. The Eagles shot 47 percent from the field in the victory. Against Messiah, Biller again led the way for Juniata with 19 points, while two freshmen Holloway and Tommy McConnell (Bishop Guilfoyle/Hollidaysburg) scored 18 and 16 respectively. McConnell also led the Eagles with six rebounds as Juniata forced 23 Messiah turnovers in the victory. Juniata currently is in fourth place in the Commonwealth Conference. The top-four teams in the conference earn a berth in the conference tournament.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (7-13, 3-7 Commonwealth): Feb 8 at Susquehanna*; Feb 15 at Albright*.

Juniata could not put a halt to their losing streak as they dropped two conference games, one at Messiah and one at home against Elizabethtown. Juniata could not overcome a rough first half at Messiah as Juniata fell 71-33 to the top team in the Commonwealth Conference. Jen Uhrich (Palmyra/Palmyra) led the Eagles with eight points and 10 rebounds. Kelly Steinbeiser (Altoona/Altoona) added seven points for Juniata. The Eagles then could not get a basket down the stretch and fell 65-59 to Elizabethtown. Juniata got 16 points and 10 rebounds from Steinbeiser good for her fifth "double-double" of the season. Casey Shoup (Altoona/Altoona) had 14 points two assists and four steals for the Eagles. Uhrich was also in double figures with 11 points seven rebounds and four steals. Gretchen Hall (Cocalico/Denver) had a team-high four assists.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL (5-3, 1-3 EIVA): Feb 15 vs. Mercyhurst; Feb 16 vs. Princeton*.

Juniata earned their first EIVA Tait Division victory with a 3-0 victory over NYU, but dropped two conference games against Division I foes Penn State and George Mason. Juniata fell at Penn State 30-24, 30-25, 30-24. The Eagles were led by Ryan Genova (Antietam/Reading), who had 15 kills in the match. Kenny Eiser (Central Bucks West/Doylestown) was also in double figures with 13 kills. Rick Ziegler (Northeastern/Manchester) dished out 34 assists and Chris Jones (Lower Merion/Wayne) had four blocks. In the victory over NYU Juniata was paced by Eiser and Genova who each registered 12 kills on the match as Juniata won 30-20, 30-23, 30-21. Scott Kofmehl (North Allegheny/Pittsburgh) had 26 assists, while Ziegler added 12. Jones again had four blocks and Pat Shawaryn (Hempfield/Lancaster) had nine digs. Against George Mason the Eagles fell 30-28, 30-23, 30-24. Eiser led the offense with 13 kills, while Genova added 11. Kofmehl handed out 22 assists and Ziegler chipped in nine. Neil Lukas (Fairport, NY/East Windsor, NJ) had eight kills and 10 digs, while Shawaryn had a team-high 11 digs. Juniata has not lost a match a Division II or III team this season, with all three of their losses coming against Division I foes.
