During the week leading up to Halloween, Juniata students watch their favorite scary movies to get in the spooky spirit. Students discuss their favorite frightening movies.

Angela Doughterty '16, Pottstown Pa.
"I like 'The Corpse's Bride,' but it's not the scariest. It has Halloween spirit, but it is not unbearably scary for people who don't like to be scared."

Sophy Qing Xhang '16, China.
"I like 'Resident Evil.' It is not scary, but I like it because it is exciting. It is pretty gory at times."

Justin Fleming '16, Richmond, Va.
"I like movies where there are a lot of people that are gone and there are only a few people left on earth, like zombie apocalypse movies."

Elena Ostock '14, Bethlehem, Pa.
"'Tucker' and 'Dale VS Evil.' It is a movie where it shows the side of the supposed killer and makes it funny. It takes a very different angle than most other horror movies."

Elise Onjack '17, Bangor, Pa.
"Probably 'Hocus Pocus,' because I used to watch it every year when I was younger, so it is kind of a tradition. In fact, it is on tonight, so I am going to watch it."

Felicia Roppelt '17, York, Pa.
"'Halloweentown,' because my brother and I used to watch it all the time when I was little. He was scared of it, so it was kind of funny."

Alexis Klein '16, Germantown Md.
"Probably 'The Shining.' It is terrifying and just generally a great scary movie. There isn't anything extra, besides fear."

Marlene Matula '17, Juniata Online Journalist
