Studying abroad is a rare opportunity that is offered to Juniata students. Juniatians go to study over the world; from Africa to Latin America. Through these adventures, students gain a global perspective. Students can also use this learning experience to improve their skills, making them more marketable in the real world. Being exposed to new cultures and languages can influence our perception of the world and inspire students to make a difference. Students share their attitude towards studying abroad:

Courtney Sledzianowski '15, Baltimore, Md.

"I'm studying in Lille, France right now, and I chose it because I've been studying French for eight and a half years. I really love studying at a different style of university than Juniata, and I appreciate the opportunity to meet so many amazing people from all around the world."

Daniel Chessen '14, Chevy Chase, Md.

"I went to Brno, in the Czech Republic. I very much enjoyed my time abroad, especially the people I met and the places I visited. My greatest advice for any students considering study abroad is to take advantage of any opportunity to explore beyond your study-abroad site; you'll have a great time!"

Alexandra Bernosky '16, Scott Township, Pa.

"I want to go to Volgograd, Russia. The Russian language and culture is my main course of study. I have been to St. Petersburg, but, according to what I've heard from Russians and other travelers, Volgograd more closely conveys the essence of Russia. I want to get to its heart!"
