On Feb. 17, at 7 p.m., the Global Village and the dean of students’ office organized an international game night. Juniata students interacted with the global village residents and had the chance to compete on a floor-sized Scrabble board against Juniata's Scrabble champion, Nitya Chagti, a sophomore from New Delhi, India

The international game night was a perfect opportunity for students that are either curious about Living and Learning Communities or considering applying to live in the Global Village for next year. Students also had a chance to practice their language skills with various games like Apples to Apples, O Manzanas O Manzanas, Cranium, Cadoo, Jenga and Bananagrams.

Chagti is a huge Scrabble enthusiast who was eager to participate. “I had a great night where I met and played with a whole host of people. I would definitely do it again,” she said. Ambrose Lutwyche, a sophomore from Reistertown, Md., also enjoyed the event. “I think that words and language are dynamic and interesting and while I am not particularly verbose, I enjoy learning new words and definitions,” he said. When asked about his impressions of the Global Village, he added “I am considering living in the global village.”
