FOOTBALL (2-7, 2-6 MAC): Nov. 15 at FDU-Florham*.
*MAC Opponent

Juniata played an outstanding first half of football and was in position to earn one of their biggest wins of the season this past Saturday, but an injury completely swung momentum away from Juniata as the Eagles fell to King?s by a 41-16 score. Juniata led 16-14 at the half after a great first-half effort from freshman Michael Meadows (Hollidaysburg/Duncansville) who was making his first career start. Meadows rushed for 175 yards on 13 carries in the first half, and scored a touchdown. But he suffered a broken leg on the first series of the second half, and the Eagle offense struggled to move the ball consistently for the rest of the game. The contest did see another record established for Juniata running back Craig Moshier (Coudersport/Coudersport). With an 85-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, Moshier became the first Juniata runner to top the 1,000-yard mark in back-to-back seasons. He is only the second Eagle to rush for 1,000 yards or more twice in a career. Moshier finished the day with 133 yards rushing on 28 carries. Along with his 175 yards rushing, Meadows was also three of eight passing for 13 yards. Reserve quarterback Travis Lee (Williamsburg/Williamsburg) completed eight passes in 13 attempts for 68 yards during his action in the third and fourth quarter. Allan Barch (Brookville/Brookville) was Juniata?s top receiver with three catches for 38 yards. Moshier also had three catches as he gained 17 yards receiving for the game.

Thomas Siegfried (Knoch/Butler) led the Juniata defense with nine tackles. Peter Thomas (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) and Bill Bishop (Punxsutawney/Punxsutawney) each had seven tackles in the game, with Thomas adding a fumble recovery. Paul Berry (North Hagerstown/Hagerstown, Md.) had five tackles and Juniata?s only sack.

The Eagles earned a 2-1 victory over Lebanon Valley in the Commonwealth Conference semifinals, before falling 5-0 to Messiah in the Commonwealth Championship match. Grace McCluskey (West Perry/Elliotsburg) scored both goals in the win over Lebanon Valley, as Juniata claimed their first-ever win against the Flying Dutchmen in Annville. It was the second time this season that Juniata had defeated Lebanon Valley, after Juniata entered the season never having earned a victory against them.
