Huntingdon, Pa. - Juniata softball player Allison D'Ambrosia (State College/Boalsburg) has been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District II Softball College Division Team for her efforts on the field and in the classroom. The Eagle junior was a first-team selection at the designated player position. The team consists of 24 student-athletes, 12 on both the first and second teams, with each team consisting of two pitchers, a catcher, four infielders, three outfielders and a designated player.

D'Ambrosia enjoyed a breakout offensive season for Juniata which concluded with her earning All-Conference honors for the first time in her career. She finished the season with a career high .357 batting average which ranked her second among the Juniata regulars. She ranked second on the team in hits with 30, and RBI with 18. She added a .452 slugging percentage and 38 total bases on the year and scored 11 runs. She hit safely in 20 of Juniata's 32 games, and recorded nine multi-hit outings. Her season also featured a nine-game hitting streak, during which she was 13-for-27 good for a .481 batting average.

In the classroom, D'Ambrosia entered the spring semester with a cumulative GPA of 3.649. She is a member of the National Biology Honor Society and has earned Dean's List status two semesters at Juniata.

The members of the College Sports Information Directors of America by districts select the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, and the 12 first-team selections now move on to the national ballot for 2004 CoSIDA Academic All-American Honors. The District II College Division consists of all NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA colleges in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
