Juniata College Welcomes Marita Gilbert as new Dean of Institutional Equity and Inclusive Excellence

Huntingdon, Pa.—After an extensive national search, Juniata College has hired Marita C. Gilbert, Ph.D., former director of the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center at the State University of New York at Oneonta, as its first Dean of Institutional Equity and Inclusive Excellence. Gilbert begins in her role on January 15, 2018, and will serve as the senior equity, inclusion and diversity officer of the College. Responsible for shaping, operationalizing and integrating efforts that support and enhance equity and inclusivity in the College’s learning environment, Gilbert will be a resource to all on campus while paying particular attention to those students and faculty who have been historically marginalized or underrepresented.

New York Times Bestselling Author to Speak at Juniata's 26th Martin Luther King Convocation

Huntingdon, Pa. – On Jan. 22, Juniata College will hold its 26th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Convocation. The event will feature a talk by Keith Boykin, a CNBC contributor, BET columnist and New York Times bestselling author, at 4 p.m. in the Rosenberger Auditorium at the Halbritter Center for the Performing Arts.

Artist Stephen Althouse to Exhibit Work at Juniata College Museum of Art

Huntingdon, Pa. -- Starting Jan. 18, the Juniata College Museum of Art (JCMA) will exhibit the work of artist Stephen Althouse. The exhibition, titled “Transfigurations: Large-Scale Photographic Works,” as well as the opening reception Jan. 25 from 5-6:30 p.m., is free to view and open to the public.
