Huntingdon, PA - Juniata College cross country and track and field standout Katey Glunt (Bellefonte/Bellefonte) has been selected to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II College Division Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Glunt was one of 10 athletes from District II to claim first-team recognition. It marks the first Academic All-District honor of her career.

Glunt was one of the top performers for the Juniata College women's cross country team this past fall. She became the first female harrier in 10 years to earn All-Region honors as she posted a team-best 32nd-place finish at the NCAA Mid-East Regional. She also nabbed All-Conference recognition in cross country for the second time in her career with a 12th-place finish at the 2004 MAC Cross Country Championships. Glunt was the top finisher for the Eagle women in six of the team's eight meets. Her 6,000-meter time of 23:47 at the NCAA Regional was the fastest time for the women's team all season at that distance, and she also recorded the fastest times on the team at both 5,000 and 4,000-meters during the season.

Glunt has also been a major contributor for the Juniata track and field team, though she missed the 2005 season while studying abroad. In 2004 she earned All-Conference with a pair of top-six finishes at the MAC Track and Field Championships. She claimed a third-place finish in the 5,000-meters at the conference meet, and then added a fourth-place effort in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Her time of 11:49.42 in the steeplechase established a new school record in that event.

Glunt closed her junior year with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.919 on a 4.0 scale. She has a POE in biology and has earned Dean's List recognition in five semesters. She has also been a four-time member of the MASCAC Academic Honor Roll.

The members of CoSIDA, by districts, vote on the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II College Division Women's Track & Field Teams. The 10 first team selections will now move onto the national ballot for the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team, as selected by the CoSIDA Honors Committee. The District II College Division consists of all non-NCAA Division I colleges and universities in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore standing with a 3.2 or higher cumulative GPA and be a starter or significant reserve.
