Huntingdon, PA - Greg Curley, who has held the Juniata head men's basketball coaching position since 2001 has accepted the position of assistant director of athletics, according to director of athletics Larry Bock. Curley will begin his administrative duties effective immediately, while also maintaining his position as head men's basketball coach.

"Greg will very capably fill a big void in our athletics administration" Bock stated. "He commands instant respect based on his work as a coach and leader during his time as men's basketball coach. Everything Greg has done at Juniata he's done well, and I'm confident that will continue with his new role."

Curley's primary roles will be serving as Juniata's NCAA compliance officer as well as handling NCAA reporting duties for the baseball program. He will also be responsible for managing Juniata's indoor athletic facilities, a role he has handled for several seasons.

As part of his new role, Curley directed the project to completely refurbish Memorial Gymnasium which is taking place this summer. He will also oversee the renovations of the football locker rooms within the Kennedy Sports and Recreation Center, a project that will begin prior to the 2005 season.

A native of State College, Curley accepted the Juniata head men's basketball coaching position in May of 2001. He has guided the Eagles to a 45-54 record during his four seasons at the helm, including back-to-back winning seasons in 2002-03 and 03-04. It marked the first back-to-back winning campaigns for the men's basketball program since the late 1980's.

He has also served as the camp director for several successful Juniata College summer basketball camps, and has played a large role in developing the Mutual Benefit Group Little Eagles programâ??a program which has created positive relationships between Juniata student-athletes and the local community.

Curley graduated from Allegheny College in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in history along with a minor in English. He earned his master's degree in Sports Administration from Penn State in 1997.

Juniata has been without an assistant director of athletics since the fall of 2004.
