McLellan Earns Fourth All-Conference Honor
(Posted November 1, 2005)
Huntingdon, Pa. - Juniata College senior women's soccer player Nikki McLellan (Parkland/Lake Forest, Ca.) was named All-Commonwealth Conference Team as selected by the conference's eight head coaches. The selection marks the fourth time she has been selected for the All-Conference Team, the only women's soccer player in Juniata history to earn that distinction. No other player in the history of the women's soccer program has been named to more than one All-Conference Team. McLellan was tabbed for second-team recognition for the fourth time, and the second time as a midfielder. She was picked as a forward in her first two seasons.
McLellan capped her stellar four-year career with a productive senior season in which she led Juniata in goals, assists and points. She tallied a career-high 12 goals in her final season, including a four-goal outburst in a win over Penn State-Altoona and a three-goal performance in a victory over Southern Vermont College. She added a pair of goals in a victory over Mount Aloysius and had single tallies against Lincoln and Villa Julie. Each of her 12 scores came in Juniata victories. She also paced the team with five assists. McLellan had at least one point in seven of the team's 19 games, and had at least three points in five of those outings.
McLellan will leave the program with her name all over the program's record book. She ranks as the all-time Juniata leader in goals, assists and points finishing her career with 32 goals, 25 assists for 89 career points. She also holds the single-season school records for points and assists, and tied the record for most goals in a season in her senior campaign.
McLellan helped Juniata to a 6-12-1 record in her senior season, and to 26 wins over her four-year career. Those 26 wins match the most successful four-year stretch in the history of the Juniata women's soccer program.
