HUNTINGDON, Pa. â?? The Juniata College women\'s tennis team remained unbeaten in non-conference action on the season as the Eagles posted a 9-0 victory over visiting Penn State-Altoona in Huntingdon Wednesday afternoon. The win improved Juniata to 7-4 on the season, while the Lions are now 3-5 on the year. The victory has the Eagles now matching their win total from last season, with still one match remaining on the schedule. On this day, Juniata took control early with three convincing victories in doubles, and then swept through the six singles matches. On the doubles courts, the second doubles pairing of Amanda Fontana (Trinity/Mechanicsburg) and Aggie Kwon (Cumberland Valley/Enola) claimed their win by an 8-0 score. At third doubles it was Molly Coursey (Westminster/Hanover) and Liana James (Fairview/Boulder, Colo.) earning an 8-2 decision, while the first doubles duo of Caroline Weisser (York Suburban/York) and Maggie Wolenter (Audubon/Audubon, N.J.) posted an 8-4 win. The tightest singles match came at first singles where Fontana was forced to rally from a one-set deficit to earn her 5-7, 7-5, 10-7 victory. The remaining matches were claimed in straight sets, with three of Juniata\'s players not dropping a game in one of their sets. Ariel Otruba (Mansfield/Mansfield) posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at sixth singles for the Eagles while Kwon and Coursey claimed 6-0, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-0 wins at fourth and fifth singles respectively. Weisser also swept a set as she earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles. Wolenter added a 6-4, 6-2 triumph at third singles for the Eagles. Juniata will now close out its regular season on Friday with a home non-conference match against Grove City. ###
