Juniata 3, Moravian 0 BETHLEHEM, Pa. â?? The Juniata College women\'s volleyball team showed very little rust after a one-week lay-off as the Eagles picked up their fifth conference victory of the season with a 3-0 defeat over Moravian College Tuesday evening in Bethlehem. The Eagles are now 22-1 on the season and 5-0 in conference play, while the Greyhounds dropped to 13-11 and 3-2 in the Commonwealth. Juniata got off to a strong start in game one, but then was forced to rally in game two and then eventually earning the match by game scores of 30-15, 30-26 and 30-24. The Eagles hit .438 in game one but then were limited to .217 in game two and .246. But meanwhile the Juniata defense held the Greyhounds to just a .181 team hitting mark and finished with 45 digs to 34 for the home team. Juniata\'s offense was led by senior Stephanie Kines (Towson/Towson, Md.) who pounded out 13 kills in the contest and hit .400. Amber Thomas (Conestoga Valley/Ephrata) added 12 finishes with a .647 hitting percentage and Paige Johnston (Hempfield/Lancaster) chipped in with nine for the Eagles. Beth Kozak (Huntingdon/Huntingdon) finished with 50 assists for the Blue and Gold while directing the team to a .281 hitting percentage. Defensively Megan Sollenberger (Cumberland Valley/Mechanicsburg) led the team with 12 digs, while Erin Albert (Philipsburg-Osceola/Philipsburg) had three aces and four blocks. Kelly Bauer reached double figures with 11 kills for Moravian to lead the team. Valerie Korsack dished out 23 assists for the Greyhounds. Stephanie Struble led the defensive effort with nine digs, with Katherine Perkins matching Albert with four digs. The top-ranked Eagles will be back in action on Friday when they begin play at the two-day Illinois Wesleyan Invitational. ###
