ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Juniata College women\'s swimming not only earned its first conference victory Saturday afternoon, the Eagles went ahead and picked up a second conference triumph as the Blue and Gold swept a dual-meet against MAC foes Lebanon Valley and Drew Saturday in Annville. Juniata outlasted Lebanon Valley 74-48 in the contest and bested Drew by an 85-37 score. Juniata is now 3-3 on the year, and 2-2 in MAC action. Juniata had the top finisher in eight individual events on the day, and also claimed a win in relay competition. In three of those races, the Eagles also added the second-place finish. It was a big afternoon for senior Collin Thompson (Altoona/Altoona) as she earned first-place finishes in three events. The touched the wall first in the 800 freestyle to open the individual events, and then was also first in the 100 backstroke and the 200 backstroke. Rachel Almy (Foxcroft Academy/Charleston, Maine) was second behind Thompson in the 800 and Carlie Zoubek (Paul IV/Burke, Va.) was second in the 100 back. Also earning multiple first-place efforts on the day was Amy Sutherland (Norwich/Norwich, N.Y.) who was first in the 200 individual medley and also earned a win in the 400 freestyle. Juniata\'s other wins on the day came from Kristen Musselman (Central Columbia/Bloomsburg) in the 50 freestyle, Kasey Brough (Carlisle/Gardners) in the 200 butterfly and Paige Black (Tyrone/Tyrone) in the 100 free. Juniata also had the runner up in the 50 free as Betsy Rogers (Castilleja/San Mateo, Calif.) placed right behind Musselman. Juniata also produced two additional runner-up performances in the meet as Zoubek was second in the 100 butterfly and Alison Banks (Fairfax/Fairfax, Va.) touched the wall second in the 200 breaststroke. Juniata\'s next meet will be Saturday Nov. 18 when the Eagles host MAC foe the University of Scranton. ###
