LANCASTER, Pa. - The Juniata College women\'s swimming team enjoyed a solid showing on the first-day of the two-day Franklin & Marshall Invitational Saturday afternoon. Against a highly-competitive field, the Eagles earned 50 points on day one, which has them 11th out of 11 teams. Juniata got most of its points with two strong relay efforts on the day. The team of Kristin Musselman (Central Columbia/Bloomsburg), Amy Sutherland (Norwich/Norwich, N.Y.), Collin Thompson (Altoona/Altoona) and Kelly McErlean (Eastern/Voorhees, N.J.) captured a 12th-place effort in the 200 freestyle to open the meet. The Eagles then opened the evening session with a 14th-place finish in the 200 medley relay with the team of Sutherland, Carlie Zoubek (Paul IV/Burke, Va.), Mussleman and Thompson earning the Eagles another 18 points. In the individual events the Eagles had a pair of scoring efforts in the 500 freestyle. Sutherland finished 13th in the event and Kasey Brough (Carlisle/Gardners) was 16th for Juniata. Sutherland would add more points for Juniata with an 11th-place finish in the 200 freestyle on day one. Also claiming individual points for Juniata on the day were Thompson who placed 15th in the 100 backstroke, and Zoubek who was 16th in the 100 breaststroke. Juniata will wrap-up competition at the invitational on Sunday. ###
