Huntingdon, PA - Two Juniata College field hockey players were named to the Commonwealth Conference all-star squads this week. Junior midfielder Jess Hebel (Northern Lebanon/Grantville) was named to the first team, while senior back Jen Goddard (North Hunterdon/Lebanon, NJ) was tabbed with second-team honors. Both received the first all-conference honors of their respective College Hill tenures.

Hebel transferred to Juniata from Messiah, where she spent her first two seasons on the field hockey surface with the Falcons. This year, she played and started in all 16 games for the Eagles and posted a team-best nine defensive saves from her midfield spot.

Goddard extended her consecutive starting streak to 53 games this fall. She took over on the first-string as a sophomore and never left the starting lineup the rest of her College Hill tenure. This season, Goddard placed third on the team in defensive saves with six.

Although the two were kept off the scoreboard in 2001, the tandem helped the Eagles record two shutouts and a 1.70 goals-against average.

The Eagles finished the 2001 campaign with a 4-12 overall record and a 2-5 mark in the Commonwealth for the second straight year.
