HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Juniata College men's and women's tennis squads both dropped matches to Penn State-Erie, The Behrend College, Monday afternoon at the Raffensperger Tennis Courts in Huntingdon, Pa. The men fell to the Lions 6-3, while the women were defeated 9-0. In men's action, Jarrad Silver (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) posted a 6-1, 6-3 win in #2 singles over PSU-Erie's Jon Henderson; Greg Rosenberg (Rochester, N.Y./Irondequoit) notched a 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 win over James Getty at #4 singles; and Vincent Xie (Szechuan, China) recorded a 2-6, 6-3, 10-5 win at #5 singles. Those three victories were the only matches won by the Eagles during the entire afternoon. On the women's side, Aggie Kwon's (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) 6-4, 6-4 loss at #3 singles was the closest match of the day. Megan Zerba (Mount Marion, N.Y./Saugerties) at #5 singles and Ariel Otruba (Mansfield, Pa./Mansfield) at #6 singles lost their matches by 9-7 scores, playing a pro-set format after the overall outcome against PSU-Erie had already been decided. The men's drop to 0-2 with the loss, while the women suffered their first defeat of the season and fall to 2-1. Both Eagle tennis teams return to action on Sunday, Sept. 30, when they play their final match of the fall against Lebanon Valley College. -30-
