HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College baseball team dropped game four of the 2008 Landmark Conference Baseball Tournament to the Catholic University of America, 5-3, Saturday afternoon at Langdon-Goodale Field in Huntingdon, Pa. Catholic (25-13-1) advances to Sunday's championship round, starting at 12:00 p.m. In a scoreless game going into the bottom of the second, Juniata's Greg Hoffman (Phoenix, Md. / Dulaney) doubled down the right field line, later scoring off Dane Ott's (South Williamsport, Pa. / South Wailliamsport) ground out to second. The Cardinals came back in the fourth, scoring three runs off two errors, two walks and only one hit. Catholic continued advancing runners in the fifth, bringing in Joseph Maca from Mike Goodman's single to right field, increasing their lead to 4-1. After the Cardinals tacked on another run in the top of the seventh, Juniata answered with two runs off three hits. Adam Spadafora (Lebanon, N.J. / Pennington School) scored off a sacrifice fly to center field from Hoffman, while Kevin Small (Wheaton, Ill. / Wheaton North) brought in their last run of the game off Steve Wilk's (Blairsville, Pa. / Blairsville) single to right field. Catholic's Jordan Clark claimed the win, improving his record to 1-1, while Michael Bzozowski earned his ninth save of the season. Juniata lefty Andrew Snyder pitched eight innings for the Eagles, allowing nine hits, three walks and three strikeouts. Spadafora and Wilk led the Eagle offense against Catholic going 3-for-5 and 1-for-2 at the plate, respectively. With the loss, Juniata (26-11) were forced to play in Saturday's final game, an elimination bracket contest against the University of Scranton. That game was suspended due to rain after three innings, with Scranton leading 7-2. The game will be picked up Sunday morning, May 4, at 9:00 a.m. at Langdon-Goodale Field in Huntingdon, Pa. -30-
