GREENSBURG, Pa. -- It took a Division I school to finally end the Juniata College women's volleyball team's unbeaten streak, as the Eagles fell to Princeton University, 3-2, in their first game of the day at the Seton Hill University Triangular in Greensburg, Pa.

The Eagles (13-1, 3-0 Landmark) bounced back against Seton Hill, posting a 3-0 win over the Griffons.

Set scores against Princeton were 22-25, 25-14, 27-29, 25-23, and 15-5.

Senior Amber Thomas (Ephrata, Pa./Conestoga Valley) led the Eagles with 18 kills and 12 digs versus the Tigers, while Erin Albert (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) had 11 kills with four blocks. Megan Sollenberger (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) turned up 24 digs for the Eagles defensively. Michelle Morchesky (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) had three service aces; Steph Strauss (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) set the offense with 25 assists, while Beth Kozak (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) had 19 assists.

"We had a great match against Princeton. We were kind of in control at the end of that fourth set, but we made some unforced errors that hurt us," said Juniata head coach Larry Bock. "We learned some valuable stuff for the long run, but in the short run it does hurt."

"We got a great match defensively from a number of different places," said Bock. "Megan Sollenberger was in another world defensively, and there were good performances by a number of the youngsters. But in all, I believe this one will pay off in the long run."

Against the host squad from Seton Hill, Juniata posted the straight set win with scores of 25-16, 25-21, and 25-18.
Albert, Amanda Schmidt (Boswell, Pa./North Star) and Collin Wallace (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) each had eight kills to pace the Eagles defensively, with Wallace also logging a pair of service aces.

Strauss had two blocks to go with nine assists, while Kozak recorded 21 assists. Megan Sollenberger led the Eagles in digs with nine.

Juniata will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa.
