SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Juniata College senior Kelsey Buffenmyer (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) ran a season-best time of 9.26 seconds in the 55m high hurdles, while junior Ryan Johnson (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) set a new school record in the 35-lb. weight throw, to highlight Juniata College results at Saturday's Susquehanna Invitational.

The Juniata men produced sixteen season best performances, included one school record and another performance ranked among the top-five all-time at Juniata.

Johnson led the way for the Juniata men by breaking his own school record in the weight throw. His mark of 12.74 meters (41' 9.75") was a foot and a half better than his previous record and earned him thirteenth place in the meet.

Sophomore Josh Cavender (Elizabethtown, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) finished twenty eighth in the weight throw with a personal best mark of 10.88 meters (35' 8.5"). That mark makes him the fourth-ranked thrower all-time in the event for Juniata. He also took thirty ninth in the shot put with a toss of 10.10 meters (33' 1.75").

The Juniata women boasted boasted seventeen season best marks, also including one school record and another ranked among the top-five all-time.

Buffenmyer led the team once again as she finished second in the high jump with a leap of 1.57m (5' 1.75"), fifth in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.26 seconds, and ran anchor on the 4x200 meter relay team that finished seventh with a time of 1:54.01. She was joined on that relay team by Amy Reynolds (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Jefferson), Melissa Johnson (Colonia, N.J./John F. Kennedy), and Courtney DeGemmis (Lansdale, Pa./Methacton). Buffenmyer's time in the hurdles was her fastest since setting the school record in the event two years ago.

Freshman Erika Brown (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) took third in the high jump with a mark of 1.52 meters (4' 11.75"). That mark equaled her personal best, which ranks her second place all-time at Juniata. She also finished twenty second in the long jump with a leap of 4.12 meters (13' 6.25").

Sophomore Stephanie Varner (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) jumped to a season best mark of 3.05 meters (10' 0") in the pole vault to take fourth in the event, equaling her own school record in the event set last year.

The only other top eight finisher for Juniata was Melissa Johnson, who took seventh place in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.56 seconds.

Up next for the Juniata teams is the Bucknell Winter Classic in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania on Saturday, February 14
